There are several export options available depending on how you want to share your work.

Send Idea: Text/email

Selecting "Text/Email" allows you to create a stereo AAC (compressed, with minimal loss of quality) file of your complete mix, including all effects, edits, levels, and panning. When you choose this option, you will see a progress bar while the Spire app prepares your mixed file for export. After the mixed file is prepared, the iOS Share Sheet will open with all available apps and services. Choose the app or service you would like to use and you’re done!

*The AAC compressed .m4a file you create will be roughly 1.5 MB per minute. (for example, a five minute song will result in a 7.5 MB .m4a file)

Send Idea: Highest Quality

Selecting "Highest quality" allows you to create a stereo WAV file (uncompressed, no loss of quality)  of your complete mix, including all effects, edits, levels, and panning. When you choose this option, you will see a progress bar while the Spire app prepares your mixed file for export, . After the mixed file is prepared, the iOS Share Sheet will open with all available apps and services. Choose the app or service you would like to use (we recommend using iCloud or Google Drive) and you’re done!

*The uncompressed WAV file you create will be roughly 16 MB per minute. (for example, a five minute song will result in a 80 MB WAV file)

Publish: Social Media

Selecting "Social Media" will create an .mp4 video file for upload to social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) directly form the Spire app. You may also use this function to export your project as an .mp4 video file to iCloud or Google Drive so you may share it in other ways.

Publish: SoundCloud

Selecting "SoundCloud" allows you to upload your mix directly to your SoundCloud account. Choosing this option will redirect you to a page that allows you to sign in to your SoundCloud account and automatically upload your mix!

Export: Individual tracks

Selecting "Export individual tracks" allows you to create a stereo WAV file (uncompressed, with no loss of quality) for every individual track in your project. Each of these tracks will include all effects, edits, levels, and panning already applied to that track. All of the exported WAV files will be bundled together in a ZIP file (this process does not affect audio quality).

When you choose this option, you will see a progress bar while the Spire app prepares your mixed file for export. After the tracks are exported and zipped, the iOS Share Sheet will open with all available apps and services that allow for File Sharing. Choose the app or service you would like to use (we recommend using iCloud or Google Drive) and you’re done!

*The size of the ZIP file you create is dependent upon the length of the song and the number of tracks.

**The uncompressed WAV file created for each track will be roughly 16 MB per minute. (for example, a five minute project with six tracks will result in six 80 MB WAV files.

Export: Spire project

Selecting "Export project" allows you to create a .spire project file containing all of your recorded audio, including all effects, edits, levels, and panning already applied to your tracks. You can store this project to re-import later, or share it with a friend who can import it into their own Spire app. After the .spire file is created, the iOS Share Sheet will open with all available apps and services that allow File Sharing. Choose the app or service you would like to use (we recommend using iCloud or Google Drive) and you’re done!
