Some Emo Puppets Record with Spire Studio

March 22, 2017

What is an emo puppet band, you might ask? Exactly what it sounds like.

Band leader Brently Heilborn formed the 10-piece collection of puppeteers and musicians in 2014 following his divorce. Now, the group brings the comedic coping act to stages across the US, including recent stops at SXSW and an NPR Tiny Desk Concert. Tiny Desk creator Bob Boilen recently wrote on Instagram, "Wishing the streets of every city were filled with Emo Puppet bands."

So do we, Bob. So do we.

Check out the video above, and remember to stay happy, my friends.

The version of “Wake Up to the Break Up” you hear in the video was recorded and mixed with Spire Studio, which offers amp models and spaces to affect the sound.
